L-surF (Large Scale Underground Research Facility), was a feasibility study funded under the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission. The project aimed at identifying the needs and capabilities for large scale experiments and at integrating the resources of the partners. It ended up in 2008 and the partners agreed on further joint activities under the umbrella of a single legal entity: the L-surF Foundation.
